Murfreesboro Tenn March 16 1863 Mrs. Sarah Davis My dear wife Yesterday I received your letter of March 9' and was glad to hear from you once more as I had not heard from you since Feb. 15, which seemed like a long time to me and I did not even know where you was whether you was at Liberty or at your fathers but this tells me you are in your new house but you do not even say whether it suits you or how well you are pleased with it. I do not understand how the matter rests in regard to the Deed or how it was that there had to be another one made as I was informed that when the first payment was made that Fred made the Deed and left it in care of J.L. Burgess who was to deliver it when the Notes and Mortgages were returned properly signed by me and I supposed that it was all closed up Satisfactorily. I am Sorry to hear of the Sickness of Henry Husted and hope to hear of his soon being well again. I wish you would go to Mr Phenis or some one els who understands how to explain such things and one who knows all the circumstances of the trade and get him to write out an explination of the whole proceedings and Send them to me. I do not see why we must humor Fred if the Deed is made and delivered to you or Recorded. (and just here I will say that if you have the Deed and it is not Recorded have it done immediately) The last Note is not due until the 15 of October and he cannot foreclose the Mortgage before that comes due and I think if he wants the money for the first note promptly it is him that needs to be mild for he cannot force it before October if I should be contrary I will drop the subject by insisting on getting me a full explination as soon as possible. I cannot understand what you mean by me betraying your confideince in my letter to Van I wrote nothing in that letter that I am ashamed for you to see
