Some C' Co have an Arch formed and set opposite their quarters with the letter of the Co. fantastically arranged in the Arch. Two days since I tore down my chimney and made a floor of the bricks, but yesterday the weather was so wet and chilly that I wished I had my chimney again, but I was lucky enough to borrow a Stove. And yesterday I had my Company teamster to haul me a load of Sods which I arranged at the front of my tent so to take it all in all with my brick floor grassy yard and shady cedar trees, I have by far the most tidy and cumfortable quarters that ever have had since I have been in the Army. And I believe if you was to call on me I could accommodate you with a very cumfortable retreat wherewith to while away an hour or two. I am glad to hear that you have become Stout enough to walk into the country and pleased to hear that you and the children had such a pleasant viset. Tell the children that abut the same time they ware ware roaing over the hills of Hanna Creek I was marchin over and among some that ware four times higher than any they ever saw and in some places they ware so steep that we could look down from the top and see down into the chimneys of some houses that ware built at the bottom and as regards wild flowers, there are ten times as many and more beautiful than any I ever saw in Indiana, and oh how I would like to have the children with me and take a stroll with them over some of the places which I saw near Liberty, Tenn. All of this army have given up all kinds of tents except the shelter or dog tent as the boys call them. except one wall tent for head quarters for each company. I described the shelter tent in one of my other letters and will only add that each piece or one
