Sugar and coffee warm biscuit, fried Steak, boiled rice Stewed apples, butter and huckelberry and green apple pie, We get flour from the Comisary and the berries and apples we get from the citizens and our Nig Mase gets up the pies and he makes them bully, We have been haveing a great time for the last 2 or 3 days haveing inspections. The powers that be have furnished evry Brigade Regiment and Company with inspection books on which the Brigade has to record the best Regt. the Regt the best Company and the Company the the name of the cleanest and the dirtiest Soldier the cleanest gun & dirtiest the most obedient man and the most disobedent &c, &c, These reports has to be made on the 1st, 8th 15, & 24, of evry month and the commencement was made on the 1" inst and if ever you saw a set of busy boys it was here for evry fellow was scouring guns blacking Accouterments and Shoes, brushing clothes &c, and I will say that I do not believe that there ever was
