varied description: One army chair very nice. One cane seat - one straw chair - a very high backed wooden one - was once a rocking chair of the most primitive syle, but the rockers are all gone now. My sofa (as I call it) is covred with the Drs poncheau - and a blanket. Will lies on it fast asleep - his own coat for a pillow - & his hat on his face to keep the flies off from my tent door I can look into the Major's tent - he has a fine brussels carpet nice rocking chair - and is fitted up in style. next to his is the tent of the commander of the Brigade - also furnished with a brussels carpet - nice chairs - & the most conspicuous thing in it is a pretty silver coffee urn which he has confiscate somewhere in his travels. it stands on the floor as if he was perfectly used to such things at all times. There is any quantity of books in camp - four pianos and one Melodeon - right back of our tent stands a nice buggy - harness &
