on fruit then I will not be so much troubled with my bowels as I am - We get very little fruit here - I have not had a dozen peaches since I been here - when there are an hundred thousand men passing to and fro all the time - you may guess there wd not be much fruit for any one - the army ruin the country wherever they go - I have tasted tomatoes once - and that is all. & while I was at the Hall I had some cucumbers a few times so you see we do not get much here - we have lived on corn and bread and ham for a week. I shall want some of Aunt Anns corn bread when I come I have not seen a bit of corn bread here, and one wd. suppose it wd. be plenty. Be sure and get the plums - those large blue plums if thee can - do not sweeten them any. I sent my last to Makanda which I hope thee found there when the arrived - I sent
