Vicksburg Aug 25 / 63. [I have?] my dear Mother came to me yesterday - dated in Makanda and I must say I was surprised to hear that thee was there for I just expected nothing but thee would give up going altogether. I am glad thee is there and had a safe trip and found them all well. Did thee bring my trunk down with thee so if I should need it i could get it conveniently?. Thee must not mind about the net for my hair - I do not need it - I am thinking thee is not as prompt as I used to be sending things to Will - I have been waiting for my slippers for ever so long. Do
