not think of sending a bundle of anything by any one for very likely we will not get it. and then it is the expense for nothing. if we come up we can get all the wine or Peach brandy Will wants - but do not send any. I am staying in Vickburg now - Wills Brigade was ordered away last Friday to be gone 8 or 10 days and were not allowed to take any tents or anything but just what they were to eat - so I could not go of course - I am staying at the Medical Directors of our Corps and have my pleasant quarters. They have taken a large house very nicely furnished and he has his wife here and they are quite at home. They have a fine carriage to ride out in and we go most every day. Yesterday we were invited to take dinner on a Gun
