and that the troops would return to this Place East. Point. Six miles South of Atlanta. Draw our Pay, Clothing, & Rest for one month preparatory to a Winter Campaign, We Started on our return on the morning of the 5th and arrived here day-before yesterday. We have a nice place for a Camp and in a fiew days will be very comfortable I was disappointed in not getting to See Atlanta Think I will try and visit the place before we Start again. East. Point. is at the Junction of the Macon & Montgomry R.R Six miles South of Atlanta and consists of three houses & a Water Tank. We are one mile West of it in the Woods. - We are to be paid off Soon I Think I will be able to send you Some money in a verry Short time do not know how much we will be paid but I will Send you all that I get. You was very fortunate in Selling your lot. I think you got more than it was worth have the deed made out & forward it to me. The major of a Regt has power to take the Acknowladgement I will Sign & Return it to you Immediately
