the weather is very warm in day but cool at night we have plenty of beef for we can got in Mo and get as meny cattle as we want the army has 500 head now and 26 mules they took at one time to som of cavelry fetch up 25 negros in camp so we have them for cooks there is three in our camp Sep 10 as the boys has been there morning drill as they call it that is eating aples it rained some this morning the first for a week it is very dry this fall in general but the crops looks very well in general the potatoes is a good Crop there is not any news of any importance in camp now only the boys think they have got a [?] but he may prove him self clear but he was in the fight the other day as I can not get any thing corect I will not write any more now but when I rite again I may have some news of impportance N B Direct your letter to the third redg [Kansas?] Volenteers in care of Capton Foreman
