looking every day for a letter but none as yet yesterday aunt Jane received one from you dated august 1st In which I received a note you said you had not got any word from me for two weeks and you thought I had gone down the river. I am here still and cannot tell how long I may be here but it is altogether likely that I will be here untill after pay day at least I hope I will I will be shure to let you know before I am on when I am sent down the river. I was out to see John two days ago he does not much like the invilid corps he would rather be with his company they are very strict on
