Ground of Pemberton and Mc Clenard it was a hard fight and the rebels had a splendid position and every advantage over our Boys Notwithstanding our Boys gave them a good drubing and drove them into their Pen at Vicksburg where the whole crew of scoundrels were captured. well as I was going to tell you I never had as pleasant a time on picket we were one a out post on a leading road and there was a great many of the citizens with us all the day Ladies & gentleme Mostly Ladies try to get in side of our Lines but they could not come in with out some Particular Business thy would be kept untill
