Alabama Near Tuscumbia Oct 24th 1863 Dear Parents I received your kind letters one from Mother I got last night am pleased to know that yous ar all well as I am at present thank god for it. we have been on the move ever since we left Vicksburg we dont stay more than two or three days in a place we have done some pretty steady marching since I have wrote you last we have been some three days in this camp and it has been raining all the while utill this afternoon it has cleared off and looks like we would have
