to day there is very little snow to be seen as it is going off very fast and I think we will have pleasant weather from this on there is quite a change making in the neighborhood by the time I get out of the service if I am spared there will be none of the old settlers about there I hope those coming in are more interprising and go ahead than some that are going off as for that 36 acers I think that an awful awful Big price more than its worth I think it will be for sale before a great wile again and I think will be got as handy. Capt Newbold received is discharge papers this afternoon and will be going home in a few weeks so withrow & him will be boath be out of the service as soon as it gets warm weather I will send by express a blanket and overcoat & two pairs draws to you father get as much crop in as possible this season it will pay, we have not got any pay for five months but expecting it any day please pay Mrs toothaker fifty (50) cts that I owed Isaac I borrowed it at Vicksburg I sent five (5) dollars to Willis Bornes at Nashville by his request some three weeks ago and have not heard from him since I was promoted to corporal on the 25th of last month (quite a raise wasent it) no more at present my love to all from yours RJ Moyle
