at Columbus O eve of 24th. 30th wrote to William & sent Picture Debr, 3 at 8 PM started to Nashville, got there on the 7th turned men over. Hood is going around Nashv without amunation our boys are playing with the Reb's. Nashv. very strong fortified. The River very well guarded with Cavalry [searching foor?] the Reb's. Reinforcements of Cavalry going to Nashville through Ky. arrived at Louisville Ky on the eve of 8th, Slept in a good bed at the Soldiers Home, very cold night. To Colbs on the 10th. On the 16th to Cincinnati, & back on 18th Started to Washington 21th through Pittsburgh
