FRIDAY, JANUARY 22, 1864. Went before the Board but without having a sufficient time for preparation. and the result did not do myself justice but from some connected with office and other outsiders learned that I was to be recimmended for some position in a Colored Regt. SATURDAY 23 Visited Camp Smith for Cavalry-formed about one hundred and fifty men made an effort to get an order for transportation for the men belonging to the 10th O.V.C. but failed SUNDAY 24 Remained in Nashville Tenn. awaiting Transportation
