FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 1864. Pleasant day. Drilled Co. Was drilled in Officers drill by Col. Smith assisted by Maj. Sanderson. Chas Poters of our Co. On Scout reported this day says some of our boys were wounded and some mortal Having been in several fights Am Officer of day SATURDAY 13 Capt. McCurdy and Lieut Gregg and men all returned except Sergt Rimel, Martin Barnhart and James McArthur Capt under Arrest and Expect from Reports Lt Gregg will be placed under Arrest for Cowardice Was in Gatlingburg, Dandridge, Mossy Creek, Sevierville, Crosby, & French Broad fights [Once?] Also Beaver dams being out 74 days and Riding constanly with [582?] Prisoners SUNDAY 14 Struck Tents and after leaving enough of men to ride horses through the Remainder of half of the Companies Marched to Bridgeport and got on the Cars about 4 O'Clock P.M. being about 60 Men to Cars without seats. Rode all night - some being on the tops of Cars. Raining slightly.
