MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1864. Arrived at La Vergne about 10 O'Clock A. M. got to Camping Ground about Noon Camp some what indifferent - Capt. Released from Arrest by Col. Smith cause no written Order to hold him TUESDAY 16 Men fixing quarters and I laying out ground and assisting them are building then 8 by 10 ft for 4 men, quite cold, Col. as usual has detached a large Fatigue Party in order so says Boys to keep them from fixing quarters, kept Officer of day WEDNESDAY 17 Cold - Engaged helping men to Complete Barracks have not got my tent as yet being left behind at Bridgeport for want of Transportation arrived Late in Evening (Tent) Capt. Gets Permission to go to a private House not well
