FRIDAY, MAY 6, 1864. Turned over Ord. and Q M. Stores as Ordered also. All personal property that cannot be carried in Hand trunks also Co. Desk, Lost my Sorrel Horse yesterday, Negro let him get away while out grazing - Also had two Horses Condemned. 1 Light Bay 16 (Vertically, at right of entry:-) hands high Run down with (Upside-down, at head of page:-) Distemper or Farcy and 1 Foundered so (Vertically down, at left of entry:-) that cannot walk 14 hands dark Bay. SATURDAY 7 Struck Tent and moved out about 3 in Morning found the pickets and drove them in after we crossed the [Mahajack?] trace went to withing 4 Miles of Tunnel Hill and 7 of Dalton Jones.Benton, Vores John, Milligan Uriah, had to abandon their horses because unable to March Encamped at the forks of a Road one leading to Roame SUNDAY 8 Reviell at day light, Moved out on the Roam Road 2 miles and halted after remaining halted for one hour, Moved to the Right Wing capturing a Mail and driving in the Pickets, halted and remained halted until 4 O'Clock when the Right wing consisting of the Corps came up when we returned to the Center and encamped having plenty to eat of what the County affords, chickens, mutton, Beef & of which there is plenty - The weather is fine and pleasant. And our Advance little impeded by the Rebs. Encamped on about the same ground as last night. our Labors are not very arduous to be in the midst of a fight
