WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1864. Joined my command early in the morning and found them mounted took Command and Rode all day without having eat anything from the time of my leaving Resaca until after night - Are still pursuing the Rebs, and they are making good their retreat to some point unknown, Encamped at Adairville on R.R. THURSDAY 19 Slept well all night, but was almost used up after doing so much duty coming from Hospital. Marched all day through the mountain ridges passing from one Corps to an other keeping open Communication and Guarding Train. Slept well all night. FRIDAY 20 This Morning went into Camp and remained all day. Could hear the Cannon Boom toward Atlanta Ga. Suppose the Army is still pressing the Rebs Back
