TUESDAY, July 5, 1864. Stil pleasant - although excessive warm Reported to Hd Qrs. 3rd Cav. div at day light for picket and was sent to Camp - employed making Returns for Capt McCurdy now Maj and Cashiered by U.S. Military Authority WEDNESDAY 6 Thirteen of Co. "A" went to the front to clear away some Rebs and this eve a Courier Returned saying they were in pursuit of some Rebs, still assisting the Maj. making Returns THURSDAY 7 pleasant but warm. Amy as yet engaged Making Maj. McCurdy's Return to Washington - Have some 57 Horses in my Co. and they are well Cared for. Ten of my Co. are now out on a 4 day's Scout under Maj. Thayer. (Vertically, over entry:-) Forwarded to Washington Monthly Reports of Q.M. & C.C.V & Equipage for the months of May and June 1864
