MONDAY, JULY 11, 1864. Busied myself all day looking after Co. and making up papers for sum which has been on hand before I took Command of the Co. Warm and theatening Rain Thundered some. Learn none from Front TUESDAY 12 Warm. very good Camp. nothing much for officers to do except to take Care of Horses. and the weather being so very warm it is almost impossible to ride them any distance without [golding?] their Backs. There is a scout out from here Constantly. WEDNESDAY 14 officer of day - Cleaned up and Policed entire Camp. warm threatened but Rained none during the evening.
