FRIDAY, JULY 29, 1864. Same kind of weather and the same kind of employment as yesterday - Except sent out some eight escorts on so many various employments SATURDAY 30 Nights Coll but The sun almost intolerably warm I stay in quarters as much as possible - Went on Picket with 60 men - No News from front but am fearful of a great slaughter going on almost daily SUNDAY 31 Slept in Quarters and visited my Picket once during the day - warm was the weather attended church in the evening - Chaplain of Our Regt Preached
