SUNDAY, AUGUST 7, 1864. Officer of day Let the men all Rest. Except had all lights out at Taps. and Camp quiet. Could Hear Canonading & Small Arms quite distinctly Supposed to be at Atlanta Ga distance Eighteen (18) Miles. MONDAY 8 Commenced Early to have Camp Policed - was relieved early in the morning by Lt. Hafford Co. "F" 10th O.V.C. A Little under the weather. attended water Call in the Evening and was caught in a Heavy Shower. The nights are uncommon cool. presume Are preparing for a Raid. TUESDAY 9 Cool during Night - the Command made a demonstration on the Enemies right comig at Campbell Town at the Juncture of the sweet water with the Chattahooche made numerous fires and moved the Command four miles up the Chatahooche and Encamped for the night Genl Kilpatrick in Command Rained on us from 10 O'Clock until 2 O'Clock (Vertically, at right:-) destroying my diary
