December 22. Thursday Leave camp No 3 at daylight and march 16 miles and camp for the night. Pass a little town and several plantations are compeled to wade many swamps and creeks. Reached camp No. 4 at 4 o'clock PM 23. Friday Leave camp No. 4 at 8 A.M. and marched 3 miles and camped one mile from Albany to await transportation to a prison. Remain here during the day & drew rations. Left this camp at 9 o'clock P.M. for town 24. Saturday Past the greater part of the night on the train. Left Albany at 9 o'clock AM for sumter Prison Disembarked from the cars & marched to the prison at 2 o'clock P.M.
