1865 Continued cavelry capture a few prisoners distance 8 miles 26th Started at 8 oclock A.M. marched untill 1 P.M. and camped on Little Escambia a tolerable large stream crossed in the evening and went about one mile but soon came back and camped for the night distance 10 miles 27th Started at 10 oclock AM. marched untill 8 P.M and camped distance 15 miles (half rations by order of Major Gen Steel) 28th two companies of our regt. E and K was detailed to go back and help fix the road for the train to get up train arrived at .1, oclock P.M. we started at 3 P.M marched about 3 miles and camped at 9 P.M colored troops ahead 29th Started at 6 oclock A.M. marched untill 5 P.M passed the colored troops camped clost to the Perdido river
