1865 Continued 6th Company E was sent out at 1.oclock A.M. to work on an enbrasure for a batterie worked untill daylight and was relieved considerable fireing by the picketts during the day and also by the rebble artilley 7th 15th Masachusetts baterie opened on the rebbles directly in front of our regt. and after fireing 11 shotts was silenced by the rebble batteries companies E and K was sent out at dark to lay in the rifle pitts as a support for the picketts with orders to come in at daylight 8th came in to camp at daylight considerable cannonadeing and pickets fighting received orders to be ready to march at a moments notice with five days cooked rations in haversacks verry heavy fireing of canon and musketry at spanish Fort went on fatigue at dark to work on the rifle pitts was relieved at 12 oclock midnight.
