1865 Continued 26th Started at 7 oclock. A.M. run untill dark and Stoped to wood Started again at 11 oclock at night run about 2 hours and caught up with the fleet and anchored for the night 27th Started at .7. oclock. A.M. Stoped at Cahawba at 11. A.M. Started again at .12 M. landed at Selma at .3. P.M. disembarked and went into camp on the opposite side of the river from town a boat arrived from Mobile 28th Crossed the river at 10 oclock AM went into camp on the South side of Selma clost to the rebble works nearly all of the important part of Selma has been burned by Wilsons cavelry when they took the place rumors of an armistice was on fatigue unloading the regt. property off of the boats
