Altoona. Hills- Georgia June 1st. 1864 Skirmishing all day at night were relieved by a portion of the 14th Army Corps & went back about 1 mile here we pulled off our shoes & cartridge boxes & lay down & slept unmolested for the first time in a week 2nd in the morning we moved to the left & charged the enemy off from a hill & drove them into their breast works took a rebel Col & one man
