June at sun set & found that our hard tack had come it was not long before every man had hard tack in fist & his jaws working very lively on the way I saw some ripe black rasp berrys some of the boys asked a woman by the way if she had seen any yankees in here oh yes (says she) they planted their artilery & threw their cannon all over the woods 10th had orders to march at 6 oClock morning
