July on the oposite Shore harvesting & thrashing wheat they had with them one piece of artilery this we captured 9th our Div cross the Chattahoochee river (a stream about 20 rods wide) & take a position on the top of a high ridge near the river & throw up breast works we can look back & see the Kinesaw Mountain our skirmishers drove the rebs from here to day not much fighting in our hearing. recd a letter
