so conflicting it is impossible to learn the true results of the fight it is evident however that we advanced our lines & took some prisoners one report says 6 pieces of artilery were also captured, directly after the heavy cannonading we had a very heavy thunder shower ---- 8th not much fighting in the forenoon, saw 200 prisoners that were captured yesterday by the fourteenth Corps
