Oct nearly night & came back to camp & our regt go on picket while we were out our cavalry came past us with a rebel Col & brig Gen Young both wounded at Altoona & trying to make their escape in an ambulance they also captured the driver & two or three other rebs and a nigger 8th about 4 P M were called in from picket at 5 we start for Altoona arrive there at 9
