Oct for their State Officers 12th at about 7 A M we resume our march toward some in the forenoon Gen Sherman rode past us accompanied by Gen Stoneman & Gen Barry Sherman without shoulder straps & dressed in privates uniform after we had marched about 5 miles we halted 1/2 hour for dinner after dinner marched 6 miles in 1 1/2 hours over bad road crossing three creeks halted & went into camp within 1 mile of (??ome) heard some
