Nov Spring Hill could hear the roar of artillery nearly all afternoon from before we came to Spring Hill our advance was fired on by rebel pickets we formed line of battle & drove them back over Adjutant captured an [anestasia?] adjt-Gen we passed through Spring Hill & lay on our [??ms] & slept about 2 hours 30th started about 2 A M rebs made a dash on our wagon train & destroyed 12 wagons[ arrival?] in Franklin
