Decem & windy 10th & 11th nothing unusual occasionally a shot is fired from Fort Negley some skirmishing in front 12th rebs supposed to be leaving had orders to throw the ice off from our tents & be ready to march 13th colored regts reconoiter in front find the enemy in full force, weather begins to moderate 14th morning warm & very foggy
