Saturday 23d,, drew our Coat hats and made arrangements for the expidition. 24 Sunday morning loaded our wagons & at 3. P.M. started Temple's ranch on the San-Gabriel river 9 miles from San-Pedro. Escort is now composed of Capt Morris U.S.A in charge of the "treasury". Liut Sherman, Co "C" 4th Inf C.V. & the non comisioned officers & Privates before (Vertically, from bottom left:-) Distance traveled to day 9 miles
