Friday Sept 5 Left camp after 5 A.M. Road Sandy gravely, hilly, [?] and rockey. Worst road have found on the trip. Poor Country. No wood grass nor watter till you get to Vieseta. Tolerable good spring here. Indian Rancha is in the brush here. (Vertically, from bottom left) Traveled 18 miles today
