out holding out their hands & opening their mouths & praying for "the scoffers" & the "multitude outside who are going down to the pit" & then songs were struck up promiscuously. The fall trees seemed to be an eloquent appeal against these proceedings & to say that as these shriekings could not penetrate the mighty forest more than the merest whisper so the whisper would sound as loud in high heaven as the shout. They looked majestically still. Many go to these meetings as a sight, but after all I have said I would not say that they may not be productive of good. "Anyhow Christ is preached"
