September 3rd By Rr. cars to rock Island Ills. where 10.000 Rebs. are said to be confined across to Davenport (Iowa) a flourishing little town distance m. time h.$ passed through the great Illinois prairie country very flat 4th Sunday 5th Had intended to go up the Mississippi but was not called in time in the morning so took the cars to Dunleith some way round on Illinois side then crossed to Dubuque, Iowa 6th This is a pleasant place & a beautiful hilly country or rather swailly land & quite South-Down grass this is the place of
