It would be rather uncomfortable for us who have become almost acclimated to Dixie to go to Iowa at this time of the year; if it is as cold as is represented. Very "tall" stories are told of the cold and snow you have had this winter. If there is to be an important campaign opened from this point soon, as it is expected, for Sherman will soon be moving troops down the river, I would not like to go home and miss it. I am afraid that if we should go home just at the opening of a campaign I should feel like a soldier slinking to the rear or like an officer who resigns in the face of the enemy -- little.
