I detest and abhor more than that of self love. I am glad none of my friends possess such dispositions. the army is a good place to learn a mans character - I expect if you was to see Ace some time you would be perfectly disgusted with him - Since the Surrender I have seen several of the most prominent Rebels of Ga. and some of other states. I have seen Toombs Cook Bell of Tenn - and passed the residence of Vice President Stevens. I was at Toombs house he is a real jolly old reb he turned over $518 0 to Capt. Abraham while we were at Washington. I had the pleasure of counting it. and bringing it to this place to turn over to Genl. Upton. I will start back this eavening. we go on the Cars. it is quite along ride I send my love to you and Sallie. good bye write soon as convenient.
