Oct 2nd.., 64' Regt relieved the 17" Ohio on the line of Pickets. 3d,, Get orders at 2 AM to be ready to march at 6 A.M. Stuck tents & Reg came in from picket. Lay around until 2 P.M. and then set off in quick time going around to the left of Atlanta and to [within?] one mile of the R R bridge where we camped for the night, having marched about 8 miles Hundreds of men straggled by the Roadside and at nine at night
