morning. The ascent was difficult, nearly all of the men giving out, Days march about 6 miles, 16" Trains go around by the Gap. Start down the mountain early, our Regt in advance and come out in Snake Creek gap, where we find the 4" Corps, We pass them and push on to the mouth where we halt until the 4" goes by then strike out northwest on quick time, turn north toward Tunnel-hill. Make a 6 mile march and halt in line of battle (Vertically at left:-) Jonnies blockade the gap by falling trees.
