4 tents in a soaking rain A most miserable night The old cry of nothing to eat Made about 23 miles today Passed over a beautiful and well watered country in the last two days, but sadly stripped of everything eatable While here we had the famous spring. 18th Last night was a most miserable one At noon we recd orders to march at five Struck tents left them and all surplus baggage and started for B.G, distant 4 miles passed
