(Vertically, at left:-) Tues 28 Nothing of interest today, Col Lister trying hard to get the paymaster, Had Battallion drill & dress parade Leave at 7 1/2 in the morning for Bowling Green with the promise of the paymaster when we get there, (Vertically, at left:-) Wednes 29 Packed up in our old fashioned style, carrying nothing but our accoutrements, cooking utensils, knapsacks &c in the wagons Got out at 8 but had to wait till near 1 P.M before geting off After 5 miles of regular Ky back woods, we reached the pike
