we rec'd orders to march in the morning on a scouting expedition Tues 18 At 8 AM. we marched up the river to the ford 4 miles above going across fields, Found an old ferry boat which Col L sent down to camp, and then returned taking a rounabout way got to camp at 1 P.M. Connor and another brought in one of Morgans men whom they caught while on a scout, Wednes 19 Rainy night an expedition of 30 foot and 10 mounted men sent out.
