February 9, 1965 H. C. Crane, Esq. New York Dear Sir, Yours of 2d inst duly recd and I will [sell] land if possible. I enclose herein a list of the lands belong to J. C. Durant, with an estimate of their present market value. I have paid taxes on them since they were coming to [illegible], with the exception of the land in Iowa County, in section 25.81.11, which was [illegible] subsequently to the [illegible] [illegible] and which I never had instructions to attend to. The land in [illegible] Co., of which you say you have no [illegible], [illegible] bought off Cook Sargent in 1839, and with the laws in [illegible] Co., was deeded to John E. [Henry?], and some [three?] years afterwards was conveyed by [Henry?] to Durant. It was the [back?] end of the settlement with Cook Sargent, which [illegible] up with an old mare, which the Doctor took [into?]. I kept for a year or so, and then sent out to Sargent;s [farm?], where she is now.She had a colt that kicks at everybody and went [illegible] off for another home; --the two head of stock are now on Sargent's farm and are worth about $150.
