Davenport, Iowa, Nov. 26 1874 Henry C. Crane Esq, Atty New York Dear Sir Please find enclosed the mortgage from John Scanlon to Thomas C Durant on the E2SE4, E2,NE4 & NW4 NE4 21.80.8 = 200 A. Johnson Co. When first returned from record the name was spelled "John Scanlin" thus differing from the deed where it was "John Scanlon", so it had to sent again to Iowa City for correction.
