Boston Dec 21st 1874 H. C. Crane, Esq, Atty 20 Nassau St, N.Y. Dear Sir, Yours of 19th rec'd with advice to sell the 400 acres Iowa Co land, also your telegram of this date limiting price to four (4) dollars cash. I have tried all the speculaters I can think of in this market, and the best offer obtained is Three dollars cash, from a man who sold a quarter section, very near your 320 this Fall @ $5 - on 10 year time. If you will give him time to get a report from there, say a couple of weeks, and he finds it is good smooth prairie, he would give $4 - My information has been that it is "rough" and hard to sell - So there time for his inquiry? Yours truly Jno L. Coffin
