Brown & Co check on Manhattan Co for 7000$ and check of O Ames & Sons For the balance $634 - as per statement below being the proceeds of note July 17th 4 mos. at same rate as notes that Lambard discounted for you - I am very sorry that I am so short of money the second note of 40.000 will be discounted as soon as we can raise the funds I will advise you I remit to you the proceeds Yours Truly Oakes Ames acknowledge receipt of enclosures John A Dix Note July 17th. 4 mos 3 days for 400000.
